...take for granted days like this. Days when the sun peeks in and out of the clouds, warming your skin for those glorious minutes before it hides behind a cloud, allowing you to be cooled and refreshed.
I never want to forget the way Huntersville looks on a afternoon at the end of May. The way the clouds leave shadows over the rolling mountains, magnifying its beauty and giving them depth and exquisite detail.
I hope I'll always take the time to run through the tall green grass enclosing a quiet stream, and stop to listen to the beauty surrounding me. I don't ever want to take for granted the magical place I grew up in all my life.
I hope I'll soak in each sunset and observe the pink and purple strokes painted across the sky.
This is the place I've lived my entire life. I could not be more blessed. No matter where I go, I never want to forget the place where so many memories were made. The place where I met my best friend. The place where I would ride my bike all day and soak up the sun until it set in the sky. The place where I would play "pretend" outside with my brothers, and we could be whoever we wanted to be. The place where you can sit in the middle of the road for more than five minutes and not get hit by a car.
This is the place I call home.
